To Attend the Seminar on Promoting Awareness on the 1995 Mekong Agreement and the Five Legal Procedures of MRC
With coordination from the Cambodian National Mekong Committee, through joint capacity building programs, Mr. Yan Samrith, Director of the Department of Legislation and Extension of Tonle Sap Authority, attended the seminar on promoting awareness on the 1995 Mekong Agreement and the five legal procedures of MRC to support the implementation of the agreement, which was held in Siem Reap on 05-07 October 2015. The seminar was organized in order to: (1) to promote the awareness of the 1995 Mekong Agreement and the 5 legal procedures to officials who implement the projects and relevant programs of the member ministries and institution, (2) to update of implementation of the 1995 Mekong Agreement, and the 5 legal procedures, especially the principal instruction and technical guidelines of the procedures by presenting the experience in the implementation including the difficulties and easiness within the national and regional framework, (3) to discuss and adopt recommendations on the issue of evolution in the Mekong Basin and in areas related to the implementation of the 1995 Mekong Agreement and the five legal procedures of MRC (legal procedures on the quality of water flow, legal procedure on the maintenance of the main river flow, legal procedure on the exchange of information and data, legal procedure on notification and consultation and legal procedure on monitoring on the use of existing water).
