Research Study Activities on Fish Yield by Fishing Lots in Phnom Penh and Kandal Province

Tonle Sap Authority's Technical Working Group has been researching the yields from fishing lots in Phnom Penh and Kandal province. The study on fish resources by fishing lots in the fishing season, which began from 15 November 2015 to January 24, 2016 lasted for 2 months and 10 days. This study has the same duration as the study in the past 4 fishing seasons. Major purposes in this study are:
- To collect data on daily catch (24 h) in 5 rounds chosen in the study in Month Khert
- To collect data on fish species No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and fish bait as well as the sample two times per day to check and measure in the lab of Tonle Sap Authority
- To note and measure the height, speed, quality, and temperature of water and some meteorological factors.
The data collected in this fishing season will be analyzed with the data contained from the previous fishing seasons. Hence, Tone Sap Authority has a tight grip on the data and experiences on the fish resource, fish traffic and water quality through the study on the fishing lot business in Phnom Penh and Kandal province, which has conducted for the past 5 consecutive fishing seasons.
