Activities of a Study on the Dry Season Crops Cultivation in Zones 1 and 2 of Batambang Province

From June 03 to 05, 2015, H.E Meas Oeun, Advisor to Tonle Sap Authority, led the technical officials to study the dry season crops cultivation (early-rainy season rice) in order to compile information related to agricultural crops of the areas around Tonle Sap Lake in Zones 1 and 2 of Batambang Province. The purposes of this study were to collected data on the cultivated area, types of seeds, measures and techniques of farming, vermin and diseases , soil utilization and pesticides, irrigation system, and soil texture and to take soil samples for experimentation (soil quality). In the study process, the team met with villager, commune authorities and farmers, dig the earth to check soil texture, described soil profile and took soil samples for experimentation.​
